TAPESTRY

REXPERIENCE presents TAPESTRY, an extraordinary exhibit at REXPERIENCE that invites you to journey through diverse cultural narratives, expertly woven into breathtaking digital art. This unique showcase brings together two distinct yet harmoniously intertwined immersive experiences: “MUSŌ” and “HANYA BATIK”.

“MUSŌ” transports you into the ethereal beauty of classic Japanese art, reimagining iconic masterpieces like Hokusai’s “The Great Wave” into a dynamic, multi-sensory odyssey. It’s a dreamlike exploration of tradition brought vividly to life through cutting-edge digital animation.

Complementing this, “HANYA BATIK” offers a heartfelt tribute to Malaysian heritage. Through the eyes of a batik artist, this immersive journey celebrates the rich history, vibrant patterns, and contemporary spirit of Malaysia, flowing seamlessly from historical moments to modern urban life.

Together, they form a TAPESTRY of human creativity, showing how art transcends time and borders. Witness the delicate threads of cultural identity and artistic expression intertwine, creating a rich, immersive narrative that celebrates both global legacies and local pride. Come and experience these stories unfold in an unforgettable symphony of light, sound, and color.

HANYA BATIK

by Arif Rafhan, Fahmi Hosnan, Ian Kit, & Bo Amir Iqram

“Hanya Batik” is an immersive digital experience, narrated through the eyes of a batik artist with visuals by Arif Rafhan. The show transitions from traditional longhouse interiors and historical events, such as the establishment of the Malacca Sultanate, to modern Malaysia’s vibrant urban scenes and cultural celebrations. Prominent Malaysian figures narrate their contributions, symbolising the nation’s cultural continuity and progress.

Batik graphic assets are intricately used throughout the show, blending traditional and contemporary designs to celebrate Malaysia’s diverse and evolving culture.

MUSŌ

by Fahmi Hosnan & Ashish Khilnani

More than just an exhibition, Yume transforms Japanese history’s most cherished masterpieces into an immersive art experience. Through projection and motion, this digital art evolution envelopes you in a breathtaking tapestry of carefully chosen artworks sourced from the public domain.

From Kawase Hasui’s delicate “Ikegami Honmonji no to” to the iconic “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai, the delightful symphony of treasures takes you through fleeting moments and cultural wonders. Yume also meticulously weaves snow-covered landscapes, like “Heian Jingu no Yuki” and ventures into historical vignettes with SHUNSEN’s “Hanayagi Jusuke”.
