HANYA BATIK
by Arif Rafhan, Bo Amir Iqram, Fahmi Hosnan and Ian Kit

“Hanya Batik” is an immersive digital experience, narrated through the eyes of a batik artist with visuals by Arif Rafhan. The show transitions from traditional longhouse interiors and historical events, such as the establishment of the Malacca Sultanate, to modern Malaysia’s vibrant urban scenes and cultural celebrations. Prominent Malaysian figures narrate their contributions, symbolising the nation’s cultural continuity and progress.

Batik graphic assets are intricately used throughout the show, blending traditional and contemporary designs to celebrate Malaysia’s diverse and evolving culture.

GEOMETRY OF EMOTIONS

“Geometry of Emotions” is an interactive digital artwork by Fabien Bouchard (Parse/Error) and Matthieu Pernaud, created with the support of Institut Français. Lasting 15 minutes, it features video projections and spatialised sound that react to spectators in real-time. This piece explores the duality of geometry/organic and artificial/natural, offering a sensory journey through emotions influenced by digital data flows.

By blending geometric and organic movements, it questions our relationship with technology and emotions. The evolving colors represent changing emotional states, prompting a deeper contemplation of how digital data flows impact our emotional experiences.

by Colas Fiszman & Laurent Delforge

“Escape” is an immersive audiovisual piece by Colas Fiszman (Tyrell Studio) and Laurent Delforge (NONE Studio) in collaboration with RXP. It explores our relationship with technology and self-image in modern society through innovative dance, electronic music, and generative video. Utilising advanced tools like TouchDesigner and Unreal Engine, the performance synchronises dancers’ movements with dynamic projections for a multisensory experience.

This artwork delves into technological advancements and virtual environments, highlighting their impact on daily life and encouraging the audience to reflect on personal identity and modern culture.
